is going to take longer than I was hoping. 🙁 After arriving back in NL last week friday I’ve been resting and recovering from my car accident in China. On monday I went to my doctor for another check up and to discuss further treatment of my injuries. The wound on my right knee is healing properly and the doctor made an appointment for me to see the orthopedist on friday.
Well today was my appointment and just got backfrom making another set of x-rays to see how my knee is doing. I got the new type of cast which is a lot lighter then the old one and my wound is healing properly. This cast is a full closed cast unlike the one I had since the accident. Which was only a back slab to support my leg and knee. This was because my wound on my knee was still not dry and closed. Now that it is they gave me a full cast which will have to stay for one week.
Next week I’m going to have to go back to the hospital to have it changed and to check up on my wound. If all is well they will put a new cast on which will have to stay there for 4 more weeks. So that means I will be walking around with cast for another 5 weeks. O_o Otokeeeee …
Oh well, if that is what it takes to heal my knee so be it. But after 5 weeks they can check and see if there is need for further treatment, which I hope won’t be necessary. Then I’ll be needing physical therapy to strengthen my leg muscles and knee again which I’m guessing is gonna take another 3 to 4 weeks.
So at the earliest it will be November that I will be walking around normally. 🙁 Let’s hope there are no complications because I need to start looking for a job. At least it will give me time to prepare but 2 months … man that is going to be a long time. Because I don’t want to show up for an appointment with my leg in cast or limping with crutches. Oh well, I might change my mind and start sending out letters anyway.
Oh well, at least I’m allowed to walk around and go places which is exactely what I am going to do when the weather is a bit better. I really want to go outside.
